Ontario electrical-contractor vehicle identification

O. Reg. 570/05, s. 19 requires an electrical contractor to prominently display the electrical contractor licence number on business vehicles. ESA's published vehicle guidance says to complete the display within 90 days, use black or white characters at least one inch (2.54 cm) high, place the number on the back or both sides, and put ECRA/ESA Lic or ECRA/ESA before the number.

This made-to-order kit reproduces the exact electrical contractor licence number the buyer provides. It does not issue, renew or validate a licence. It does not reproduce an ESA logo, seal, inspection label, approval label or decal. A Master Electrician number is not required for this vehicle display; enter the Licensed Electrical Contractor number.

Buyer checks before production

Confirm the current licence number, the selected placement, the usable panel size and black-or-white contrast. The sample number shown in product media is fictional. Regulatory status and final placement remain the contractor's responsibility.

Measure and install

Measure the flat usable panel on every intended location before choosing the vehicle type. Exclude handles, seams, mouldings, badges, windows and damaged paint. Clean the surface with a residue-free method appropriate to the vehicle finish, work in a sheltered area, align the transfer tape before pressing, and apply the lettering from the centre outward with the included squeegee. Keep the application dry until the adhesive has set according to the supplied instructions.

• Submit the licence number exactly as it appears on the current electrical contractor licence.
• Choose black for a light vehicle or white for a dark vehicle; use Reflective White only on a contrasting dark surface.
• Review every character, selected location and measured fit on the digital proof before production begins.
