What Ontario's official process requires

Ontario Regulation 174/22 defines the vehicle classes that require annual or semi-annual inspection proof. For a commercial motor vehicle and its drawn trailer or dolly, section 2 uses a combined-gross-weight test exceeding 4,500 kg and includes listed exclusions and separate rules. Confirm the exact vehicle class, use and exemptions against the current regulation.

Ontario's Highway Traffic Act section 100.4 restricts official inspection proof to the provincial process: it is issued by a registered technician after the required inspection at an accredited vehicle inspection centre, using a form or type provided or approved by the Ministry.

This retail reminder has no inspection authority

• It does not reproduce or replace an official annual or semi-annual inspection sticker.
• It does not show that a vehicle passed an inspection.

If an official sticker is lost, damaged or otherwise needs attention, contact a DriveON Vehicle Inspection Centre or the Ministry for the current official process. Do not use this retail label as a substitute.

Place the reminder as an internal fleet aid

Choose a consistent internal reminder location that does not cover the official inspection sticker, VIN, licence plate information, other required markings or the driver's field of view. Keep the official sticker and records in the locations and forms required for the vehicle.
