A defined Ontario construction-site sign package for entrances, PPE reminders and project information. Choose the four-sign starter set, the eight-sign site set, or the eight signs with a write-on project information board. These are physical signs; the constructor remains responsible for selecting, completing and posting every notice required for the actual project.

What each package includes

  • Starter Site Kit (4 signs): Construction Site; Authorized Personnel Only; PPE Required; and DANGER - Unauthorized Entry Forbidden.
  • Standard Site Kit (8 signs): all four starter signs plus Hard Hat Required; Safety Footwear Required; Eye Protection Required; and No Smoking.
  • Full Project Board + Signs: all eight signs plus one write-on project information board for constructor, contact, ministry-office and emergency details.

The signs are common site-control legends, not a universal compliance checklist. Required wording and placement depend on the project, hazards, work areas and current Ontario rules.

Ontario posting boundary

Ontario Regulation 213/91 section 13 requires a conspicuously posted project notice with the constructor's name, Ontario business address and telephone number, and the nearest ministry office's address and telephone number. Section 17 requires written emergency procedures to be established and posted conspicuously. Complete the project board with current site-specific information before posting.

Section 44 requires danger signs in prominent locations and sufficient numbers where needed to warn workers of a hazard. Its prescribed sign uses the word DANGER in legible letters at least 150 mm high and states that unauthorized entry to the hazard area is forbidden. A smaller or differently worded entrance sign does not replace that prescribed hazard-area sign.

Use the kit against the real site

  1. Confirm which package covers the entrance, controlled areas and common PPE reminders.
  2. Complete the project information board with the current constructor, contact, ministry-office and emergency information.
  3. Compare each work area with the project's hazard assessment and add hazard-specific signs where required.
  4. Post signs where they are conspicuous, readable and appropriate to the controlled area.
